We require a valid payment method to ensure that the funds required to complete the transaction are available when the item is delivered. When the buyer enters in payment and initiates a delivery, a hold for the transaction amount is placed on the buyer's payment method. This will show up as a "PENDING" transaction on the buyer's payment method account. 24 hours after the item is delivered, the debit from the buyer's payment method is then finalized.
